At the national Cookie Man Best Baker’s Contest Bhumika and Nidihi Chamoli from Rishabh Public School, Mayur Vihar Phase I, win the regional round
The Cookie Man Best Baker Contest 2007 regional rounds got off to a roaring start with the Noida finals being held at the Centrestage Mall. About 30 students from 15 schools participated in the keenly-contested Noida finals, cooking up a wide variety of delicious cookies. Bhumika and Nidihi Chamoli from Rishabh Public School, Mayur Vihar Phase I, baked their way to the National Finals to be held in Chennai on August 15. The Best Baker Contest is a national cookie-baking contest for school children in seven cities across India.
In the past few weeks Cookie Man chefs had conducted ’Dirty Your Hands’ sessions in schools across the city in order to familiarize over 3000 students with the intricate process of cookie making. Children were given an opportunity to try their hand at mixing the dough, getting the right measures and other tips of making a truly crunchy cookie. This fun session was followed by a more serious round of questionnaire testing, which determined the representatives from each school for the regional round. Two students who scored the highest scores were selected from each school for the regional round.
In the finals at Spencers Plaza Mall in Chennai Bhumika and Nidihi Chamoli will compete with teams from Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Ahemdabad, Bangalore and Chennai. The national winner will be chosen by celebrity chefs and culinary specialists. The winning team shall win a glittering rolling trophy and lots of exciting gifts including a music system and gift hampers!
