Rock satsang at Shipra Mall

A rock satsang that may change your life, will be held today at the amphitheatre of Shipra Mall at 5 p.m.


The concert is organised by Shipra Mall, Indirapuram, in association with The Art of Living (AOL), the NGO, whose founder is Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. The band members of The Art of Living will perform here. The concert is open for all and there are no passes or tickets required to attend it. A comprehensive workshop is also planned on November 20-22 in Sector 32, Noida
Titled ’Brahm Naad’, it will showcase 1000 sitarists, on one platform, in a first-of-a-kind concert. Scheduled to take place in the city on November 21 the proceeds of this initiative will be dedicated to aid in the relief and rehabilitation of Bihar.
Supported by the Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Tourism, government of India, the ’Brahm Naad’ initiative will also witness the participation of Pt. Ravi Shankar (Sitar), Pt. Hari Prasad Chaurasia (Flute), Pt. Rajan and Sajan Mishra (Vocal- Hindustani Music), Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma (Santoor) and Sonal Mansingh (Odissi Dancer), who will be honored, at the event, by Sri Sri himself.
The music for this 1000-piece sitar orchestral ensemble is based on ancient ragas from the Gandharva Veda, namely Gara, Bageshwari and Hamsadhwani. The instrument of emphasis in this symphony, the Sitar, represents regality and embodies the rich musical heritage of India. The 1000 sitarist’s, will be accompanied by musicians on the flute, tablas, dholaks, sarod, sarangi, pakhawajs, veena, keyboard, mrudangam and ghatam, and they will fuse skilful composition with artistic arrangement to display the potent presence of classical music.
On November 16, 2008, a car rally will drive across the city to create awareness about the Art of Living (AOL) ’Pranayam Dhyan Shivir’ and ’Utsav’ programmes.
It will start from the Noida Stadium in Sector 21A and proceed through Sectors 22, 23, 33, 34, 51, 50, 40, 39, 36 and 31. The ’Pranayam Dhyan Shivir’ is open to all and it is being held on November 20, 21 and 22.There are free passes as well as donation passes.
The donation passes are for people who would like to donate towards the Bihar flood relief operations. An ’Utsav’ programme will also be held from November 20 to 23.
The timing for the ’Utsav’ programme is from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and it will be held at the Sector 32 ground. Entry will be from gate no.3 and gate no.4. The morning and evening ’Pranayam Dhyan Shivir’ will be free for ’Utsav’ participants. Anyone who would like to register should contact Kavita on 9711010886.
