Spicy Meet
Mahila Pragatisheel Association recently organised a meeting on the usefulness of various spices in Mahila Park in Block A, Vivek Vihar. The meeting was attended by about 100 participants that included women and children. The women discussed the benefits of our traditional spices and how to use them for the best results. Ritu Bhatia of the Association says: "I demonstrated eating 50 gm of white pepper, which people find difficult to take due to its hot and pungent taste. But it has good medicinal properties. It is good for the eye-sight and strengthens the immune system." The benefits of various other spices like ajwain, dalchini (cinnamon), tejpatta (bay leaf), red chilli, turmeric (haldi), black pepper and others were also discussed on the occasion.

Scholarships, books, tricycles distributed
A large number of students and physically challenged were helped at 33rd annual function organised by Tarun Mitra Parishad at Pearey Lal Bhawan. Chief guest Vijender Gupta, chairman of standing committee of MCD, inaugurated the function. Speaking on this occassion he appreciated the efforts being made by the parishad for the backward section of the society for the last 33 years continously. On this occasion social activists Puesh Gupta, U.R. Mediratta, Swadesh Bhushan Jain, Ajit Parshad and Rakesh Jain were special guests. Patron Inder Chand Jain Badjatya presided over the function, Puesh Gupta welcomed the guests and released its souvenir "Sankalp aur Sahyog".
Acording to general secretary Ashok Jain, "25 handicapped were given tricycles, wheel chairs, etc. Sewing machines were given to widows and 400 needy and handicapped students got scholarships, stationery and JPH help books from Jiwan Publishing House.
Handicapped students were honoured by Patron Sudha Gupta with Srikishan Gupta Memorial Award and Subodh Chand Jain Memorial awards.
On this occasion small children presented cultural programme. President Manoj Jain presented a vote of thanks while sweets were offered to all by Ankur Jain Badjatya.
