I am an active member of the Mayur Kunj Sr. Citizen’s forum and have written to the minister for IT and P&T, R. Raja, on the sorry state of letter box installed outside the apartments.
We need immediate replacement of old, worn out and rusted postal letter box installed in front of AIIMS Apartments, Mayur Kunj, which is blot on the postal department as well as the colony residents. Repeated reminders to the PMG (Delhi Circle), with copies to secretary communications, the union minister and the President of India, have not borne any results.
This box was installed six months ago after some repairs instead of a new PO box as requested by us.
After the rainy season this was completely worn out and people stopped posting their letter here.
This has been shown to the mobile post office people, the postal messenger who collects the dak and the postal peon, without any result. Now we have pasted a notice urging the public not to post any letters in this and feel sorry for the inconvenience on behalf of P&T.
Now if this is not replaced within 10 days we may remove it and take it out for a funeral procession right up to the communications ministry to see the secretary and minister and finally leave for burial at PNG (Delhi circle) office. This is our final word.
