Count on music
Our school teachers finished our syllabus by mid-December, which means we are left with ample time for revision. In our school, we have a system of two pre-board exams, the first is held in December and the second in January, to prepare us for the real exams. They are a sort of mock board exams and are really helpful in assessing our preparation. Once a student is well-prepared, there is not much scope left for stress. And if I ever feel it, I listen to music, which has a calming effect on me. As cable TV and internet connection has been disconnected at my place, I actually have to depend on music. Soothing music actually relaxes one’s nerves.

A walk or a chat does the trick
My parents used to nag me about my studies. But they have stopped doing so for the last month, from the time they have seen that I have begun studying. I have been feeling the heat of exams for the last one-and-a-half months and now spend more time studying than doing anything else. The first and foremost thing I do before I sit down to study is to switch off my mobile as it is a distraction. For breaks, either I go for a walk with my friends or I chat with them over the telephone. It is really necessary as all study and no play will really make me a depressed boy. I want to become an engineer and I know my priorities. I study as much as is required for scoring good marks.
